Court Convicts Jun Kiramis to 4 Years in Estafa Case Involving Filipino National

MANADO | BITUNG POS – The Regional Trial Court (PN Manado) has sentenced Frederick Nikinuluw Kiramis, also known as “Jun Kiramis,” to four (4) years of imprisonment for the crime of estafa involving a Filipino national.

In a decision promulgated on Thursday, April 24, 2026, the Court found the accused guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the offense charged, as alleged by the Prosecution.

Aside from the prison term, the Court also imposed a fine of Rp500,000,000, with an equivalent subsidiary penalty of four (4) months of imprisonment in case of non-payment, upon finality of judgment.

Court records show that the case stemmed from a complaint filed by Gracelda Yap Madera, 51, a resident of General Santos City, Philippines, who allegedly suffered financial loss amounting to approximately Rp5.4 billion. The loss arose from an alleged investment arrangement involving a cigarette export project, wherein the promised goods were never delivered despite payment having been made.
The complaint was filed before the North Sulawesi Police (Polda Sulut) in 2024. Following investigation and legal proceedings, including the denial of a pre-trial petition, the accused was arrested in May 2025 and subsequently brought before the Regional Trial Court of Manado for trial.

Counsel for the complainant, Atty. Erick Tengor, S.H., expressed respect for the Court’s ruling, stating that due process was observed and justice was served.

He further stated that the legal team intends to pursue a separate civil action for restitution of damages, as well as initiate proceedings under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (TPPU) to trace and recover assets allegedly derived from the offense.   Sartika
